Autoblog Becomes a Believer with the Nismo 370z

Jonny Lieberman, blogger at www.autoblog.com had a chance to drive the Nismo 370z and to quote him, "Meet the 2010 Nissan 370Z Nismo, far and away the best Z ever." Big words from a guy who hated every offering made by Nissan and Infiniti.

"This is the car enthusiasts have been hoping for ever since we learned that Nissan would be chopping four inches out of the Z's wheelbase and bumping the displacement by 0.2-liters over the outgoing 350Z. But the Nismo's even more than that. Really, the Nismo is the sports car the 370Z should have been right out of the box, but for various reasons isn't. One of those being that marketers have to hit their price points. Meaning that if the Z's competition (i.e. Mustang GT) sells for less than $30,000, Nissan has to sell something just as cheaply. This leads to all sorts of ironies, like oil coolers, big brakes and LSDs being options on supposed "sports cars." But the other reason is that the Nismo isn't for everyone. In fact, you probably wouldn't like it. Us? We love it."

Personally, I believe it looks somewhat similar to Volk CE-28N's. Also, I'm not digging the design of the centercaps. Makes them look cheap for some reason.

I just realized the bolt patterns offered won't fit the G, and the sizes are somewhat weak. So why am I posting this release here? I realized this too late after almost finishing today's entry... so might as well finish it. Besides, you Honda guys might appreciate it.

Don't Do This.

Before:

After:

Two teens could face reckless endangerment charges for a car accident at New York City's first municipal airport that landed both young men in the hospital.

NYPD investigators say the two 18-year-old men were driving at "a high rate of speed" at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, at around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. But investigators stopped short of saying that the teens were drag racing.

Nevertheless, the two cars, both Infinitis, collided and one of the vehicles flipped, cops said.

Please don't street race. Keep it on the track, people.

I used to be a sedan-guy, like our RC. Just reminiscing about my previous ride, a 2003 IS300 5MT. What's yours?

Wangan Midnight Movie Trailer

Originally as an anime about street racing, Wangan Midnight is now a live-action movie. Although the anime was pretty popular in Japan, it never gained the same success as Initial D in the states. What really makes the movie for me is the old school Datsun Z. Expect to see androgynous boys with stone faced acting, cheesy jpop music, b-rated special effects and camera-work. All this=Fun.

Big OC G35/G37 Meet!

2c from the Outcast G's held a great meet, with invites to all crews and cars, including OCGs, Shyne, LA Gs and GLANCE. Several of us made it out and had a chance to gawk over some of the nicest G's in the planet. If you haven't made it out to one of these meets, you're missing out.
