Yes, it's a Hyundai

CLIMB ATTACK from Will Roegge on Vimeo.

Take a look at this amazing video of Rhys Millen doing a climb attack up the infamous Pike's Peak in his Hyundai Genesis (be sure to load it full screen for the full effect). I happen to like the new Genesis and respect the direction Hyundai is going with their cars. I don't think Rhys setting a new world record time doesn't hurt their brand either.

IGT Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Ver. 2

One word: Badass. IGT recently posted photos of his newly designed CF steering wheel for the G35. This is a customization from an oem wheel, with beautifully stitched leather, thickened grip with flat bottom, and perfectly weaved CF. Expect it to cost an arm and a kidney... but you don't need both, do you?

Exclusive BBK Deal for Members

Being in a team has its benefits. One major benefit is sponsors and the exclusive deals they offer to team members. Mike Johnson from Blackline Motorsports has 2 sets of massive 8/6 piston Alliance BBKs for sale. One is red and the other is black. The sale price he had on www.my350z.com was $3995, but for GLANCE members, he's offering it for just $3395. For those that know BBK's that's a great deal for 8/6 calipers and 15"/14" rotors. For more info, send me an email or to Mike.

-Robin

Alliance BBK Specs

Fully forged aluminum calipers
Anodized finish, wont fade or wear like paint
Laser engraved logo
2 piece floating rotors
Stainless Steel braided brake lines
Aluminum mounting brackets
Slotted rotors
Pads included - at cost replacement for life
Everything you need to hit the roads

Front: 8 Piston, 380mm/15" rotors
Rear: 6 Piston, 356mm/14" rotors
These rotors are absolutely massive, especially behind 19s, as they are the minimum size needed to fit the front 380mm rotors.

Some pics (needs to be resized, I know)

(Thanks to Vrod-Mike and A.H. on www.g35driver.com for the pics. Sorry for stealing them!)

Hellaflush R/C Cars

Just like the title states, here's some badass flush R/C cars I found on driftcentral.com I used to kind of be into R/C cars but quickly realized how much of a money pit it was. I sold my gas powered HPI years ago, but now I'm regretting it after seeing some of these...

Bulletproof Automotive's GT-R Demo Car Walkaround

Can't get enough of Bulletproof's super-hooked up GT-R. The Real JDM blog just posted this video of a walkaround which shows all the nice huge and subtle features on the car. Be sure to watch the end where it shows Top Secret's air-suspension lifting the car up and lowering it back down.

R-Spec Design GT-R

A production-type kit I quickly painted over a stock GT-R photo. The purpose was to make a kit that could be made in real life.

Rims are Forever

Have you noticed some wheel designs that won't go away? It's definitely not a bad thing, as there's a reason why. They're timeless. Trends in wheel designs come and go. Generally there is a clear distinction between old school wheel designs and newer ones. But, there are a few that escape that and solidify themselves as timeless. What are some timeless designs you can think of?

Here are my picks for "most timeless wheels" that are simply here to stay (sorry if I'm a bit biased towards JDM wheels):

Volk TE-37

Work Meister SP1

Volk CE-28N

Volk GT-S

BBS LM

Work VS-XX

Advan RS

Advan RG

NOTE: This is by no means a definitive list. It's just my opinion and I know I missed quite a few.

Very Cool S14 240sx Video

I've been seeing some very well filmed/edited videos of cars lately on the interwebs. This one by format67 is more notable because of the nice music video/aphex twin compositing and editing. It's nothing new, but because amateurs made it, it makes this style fresh and fun again. The car could be a tad lower and spaced out, but you can't deny the video really hooks up the car.

New "Shadow Finish" From Work

Work is one of the most popular and sought after brands in the G/Z community. Some of the hottest cars sport this brand and it's not hard to see why. Although somewhat pricey, you get what you pay for; amazing looking wheels created in the highest quality. This week, they just announced a color option for their lineup, the "Shadow Finish." I guess it's a fancy way of saying "matte black."

From iputinwork.com, "This new finish, called “Shadow Finish,” features a Matte Black face, black centercap, black rivets, and a Black Anodized barrel. The resulting combination is perfect for those looking for a stealth and subtle tone for their vehicle."

19″ applications starting at $850 MSRP / wheel
20″ applications starting at $960 MSRP / wheel

In addition to the new finish, they released a new wheel called "Gnosis" tailored for Euro-luxury cars.

Top Secret D1 Z33 350Z on Sale

Many of you have seen this monster on the D1 circuit and it's now for sale. The Z33 makes 600ps at the wheels at 7200rpm, has a ton of authentic JDM parts, and will definitely not be street legal. Although they are looking for a quick sale, I doubt it'll still be affordable for the common man. If you have the funds, email ben@topsecretjpn.com to make an offer.

What Does GLANCE Mean?

Dictionary Definition
To direct the gaze briefly: glance at the menu; glanced in the rearview mirror.
b. To move rapidly from one thing to another. Used of the eyes.
2. To shine briefly; glint.

Our Definition
With every new team, there's a special name. We agreed on a criteria... It needs to be catchy. It needs to be simple. It needs to capture our vision in one word. People usually "glance" at nice cars that drive by. It was perfect for what our vision was... To create a team that encouraged and supported each other to build nice G's and Z's where people couldn't help but take a "glance."

Our Logo

The "G" is derived from the same font as the G35 logo. The rest of the lettering is kept simple and classy (much like the G35) by choosing a compressed type with thin weight.

GLANCE T-Shirts

With every new team, there's a special t-shirt. I'm always excited for custom t-shirts, especially if it represents something personal. GLANCE is definitely something very personal to me and all its members. Here are some proposed designs to glance over:

I redid the g35driver logo silhouette in illustrator and made it our own.

GLANCE Fees

Important Announcement

For all those who have reviewed the Glance Terms and Conditions, you would know that there is a bylaw which states all Glance members must contribute monthly to the Glance Treasury fund.

Here is bylaw #9:

All members will be required to deposit $10 each month into the GLANCE treasury to keep it functioning, for future GLANCE-run events, and for donations to a charity decided by GLANCE.

As your treasurer, I have set up an official paypal account. Jason and Robin both have access to the account and will be doing quarterly check ups.

For the month of July, please send $10.30 (this covers paypal fees) to treasury@glanceteam.com

Your monthly contribution will solidify your membership to the team. Without your contribution, your glance membership will be subject to dismissal. Thanks everyone.
